I guess I can be called a traveler of sorts… I grew up in London, migrated to the States in my teens, graduated with an Interdisciplinary Humanities degree in Florida (English Lit, Anthropology and Environmental Science, if you’re interested), worked in Alabama on human rights exhibits, migrated back to London to network and work at a blood cancer charity. I traveled in between. But just this month (September 2012) I handed in my resignation to travel the world more purposefully, starting by moving to Singapore. I have no concrete plans other than trying to find contractual work and projects that satisfy my curiosity and accommodate a mobile lifestyle. This could very well be financial suicide and the death of all the security I’ve built up over the years. But isn’t that how the saying goes… nothing good ever came easy?
This travel writing blog is a byproduct of that decision and also out of the many crazy, odd or simply revelatory experiences I’ve had over the years that for my own peace of mind I have decided to chronicle. It’s completely self indulgent.
The blog is a reminder to myself that the decision I made is as priceless as a life well lived.
